client summaries

After each session, aside from the initial intake, which is more information-gathering, I provide a brief written summary reflecting key themes from our time together.

The intent is simple: to offer a gentle touchpoint you can return to between appointments. These summaries are not clinical notes or instructions. They are a way of holding the thread of our work in a form you can revisit when it feels supportive.

For many clients—especially those who are neurodivergent, process information internally, or find that insights settle in over time—having a short written reflection can provide structure, clarity, and continuity. It allows you to revisit the session at your own pace, without pressure, and in a way that respects your nervous system.

Each summary may include:

  • Themes or patterns that emerged in the session

  • Language that felt important, grounding, or meaningful

  • Gentle reflections to help orient you to where we are in the work

These summaries are not meant to capture everything we discussed, and they are never a substitute for the session itself. Some clients read them once, others return to them later, and some simply like knowing they’re there. There is no expectation about how you use them.

Client summaries are shared through HIPAA-compliant, secure messaging within the client portal to protect your privacy. This is a standard part of how I work and is offered with care, pacing, and collaboration in mind. If at any point you’d like the format, length, or focus adjusted—or prefer not to receive them—you’re always welcome to let me know.
